In this post, I will try to explain these two important differences.<\/p>\n<h3>Collections<\/h3>\n<p>A collection &#8220;involves the assembly of separate and independent creative works into a collective whole&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/certificates.creativecommons.org\/cccerteducomments\/chapter\/4-4-remixing-cc-licensed-work\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">Creative Commons, 2019<\/a>). Very common examples of collections of CC-licensed works are blog posts including a CC-licensed picture or presentation slides with CC-licensed pictures. It has <a href=\"http:\/\/xolotl.org\/open-licensing-over-tv-dinners-and-smoothies\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">also been referred to as a &#8220;smoothie&#8221; open work<\/a>, as in a smoothie, you created something completely new and cannot identify each single ingredient.
