I&#8217;m generally quite a private person and struggle in sharing information or venturing into the relatively wide world of online and digital network. While I have a Facebook and Instagram account, I haven&#8217;t really ventured into the usage of Twitter, in fact I deleted my account a few years back as I just did not enjoy the &#8216;social&#8217; experience&#8230; perhaps my view will change at the end of this programme.<\/p>\n<p>Topic\u00a0 1 allowed me to investigate and look into the different types on online tools to better aid and facilitate online collaborative work. I thoroughly enjoyed navigating through these on my own as well as with the PBL group 3.\u00a0For our group presentation we used the application <em>Coggle<\/em> which enabled us to mind map our ideas and contribution to the topic. In particular, in my reflection on our PBL group meetings I learnt quite a bit about Online Safety, Information Sharing and Protection, Content Creation and Problem Solving.<\/p>\n<p>Literacy is about development so understanding digital literacy in this way is important; we acquire language and become increasingly proficient over time and eventually reach a level of fluency.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/jiscdesignstudio.pbworks.com\/w\/page\/46740204\/Digital%20literacy%20framework\">Beetham and Sharpe\u2019s framework<\/a>\u00a0(2010) describes digital literacy as a development process from access and functional skills to higher level capabilities and identity.<\/p>\n<p>Digital literacies encompasses a range of other capabilities represented here in a seven elements model:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/7-elements.png\" alt=\"Seven element of digital literacies\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m thoroughly looking forward to the next topic!<\/p>\n<p>Bring on the new week <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s0.wp.com\/wp-content\/mu-plugins\/wpcom-smileys\/twemoji\/2\/72x72\/1f642.png\" alt=\"?\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first topic had me reflecting on how confident I really am in the digital world&hellip; How do I really fit in.
