Here is some information about the different tools and platforms we will use in this course.

The course homepage

All information regarding the course is available and will be continuously announced here on our course homepage. It´s built on the open source software WordPress. During the course we will run several live events in form of webinars.

Webinars with Zoom

All webinars will be held on the platform Zoom. In order to participate, simply click the provided link for each meeting and enter as a guest, stating your name. You should be required to install a program on the first use. A list of all scheduled online webinars is provided here. We will try to record the webinars and make them available for those who could not attend.

Please have a functioning webcam and headset connected for the webinars. Google Chrome works much better at this stage with Zoom than other browsers, but downloading the client gives superior quality. There is also Zoom clients for iPad, iPhone and Android available that you need to install. Then you just need the meeting ID to join. Link to the Zoom clients is here.

You can find tutorials for Zoom here and should you require personal assistance there is help available here.

Slack for discussion

We will use Slack for Discussion Posts. More information on Slack is available here. For joining the course, please visit this link. We have created a set of slack channels.

Canvas – for officially registered students

Officially registered students need to hand in a final report at the end of each module in Canvas. Once registered on “My page” on kau.se you should have automatic access to the course on Canvas. Note that you need to have a StudentID or KauID in order to access both Canvas and “My page” as well as most other IT systems at Karlstad University.
