Why ONL? As a researcher I am a keen adopter of all the features the web has to offer. I have coauthors in the Netherlands, the UK, and the US, so Skype and Dropbox are natural part of everyday life. For each project, I log meeting and feedback notes, thoughts and decisions, in a log on Google Drive. It’s a great way to keep track of all details over the years! I have a website at WordPress where I list my papers, but also a blog with “popular” summaries about my papers (popular in terms of writing style rather than readership…). Finally, I’m on Twitter. Twitter is perfect for following niche debate and news related to my research, and for telling the interested few when I write articles, appear in the media, or organize a workshop. As a teacher, I use none of the above, and that can’t be right, can it?
