I have just recently completed a research study which involved collaborative work. Personally, I feel that work best on my own as I feel that I have been done unfairly on too many occasions by being left to do the work on my own. However, I love learning! So collaborative work excites and engages me because I know that there is an opportunity to learn. Another more recent occasion for collaborative learning has in fact been this ONL course. What I have particularly enjoyed is the diversity that the ONL course offers: different people with different cultures, backgrounds, educations etc., all collaborating towards a common goal!

Working and studying has allowed me to have personal learning networks which benefit me in equal but different ways. At work, I am fortunate to have various role players who I look to for insight, growth and essentially learning. In my personal capacity, my husband (being a businessman himself) has also allowed me to share in his network, and finally in my research and further education, my mentors, peers and colleagues at my Alma Mater University have been part of my Learning Networks. I hope that one important aspect that I will be able to take from The ONL course is to be able to add another branch to my Learning Network ‘Tree’.

Working in online education has allowed me to learn more and essentially use technologies and tools for learning. Social media is a very common method to share and learn as are many other MOOCs and online learning sites internationally.

I look forward to applying and implementing what I’ve learnt in this topic ?
