We are living and working in hectic times. We all have a lot to do, a lot to say, and a lot to think. Do we ever have time to think about how to best design an online course?

I have often found that teachers, administrators and coordinators do not have enough time, or do not take the time to stop and think. Stop and think about the course they are about to design on their chosen LMS/VLE.

Stop and think about these three questions before you start designing

1. What is the purpose of the course? And why should it be online?
2. What are the problems/barriers students/teachers could encounter during the course?
3. With the problems/barriers in mind, which tools should be used to minimize the problems/barriers?
(4.) Talk to the rest of the course-team and make sure you are all on the same page on the questions above.
