The end of topic 4, and basically the end of the course since the last week will be used to reflect on the learning goals. I must admit that this last topic, although it looked interesting, has been a bit tricky to tackle. It may add to the situation that the last two weeks have been super demanding in terms of both personal and work issues, and that the darkness has arrived to Stockholm, and as a Spanish person I find it very difficult to go through the day without almost any direct Sun-light on my skin! Anyway, in my PBL group we decided to focus on feedback, but as it was too broad, we have actually focused on feedback to the blog activity within the ONL course. Please, check our final presentation on VoiceThread which I think you will enjoy!
As a spoiler, I will say that the group was divided between those who think that the blog activity is not very useful, and those (like me!) who believe the blog is a valuable assignment where you can learn a lot, not only by writing, but also by reading other people’s blogs. However, we kind of agreed that on the ONL course there is a problem with the feedback to the blogs. A blog needs to be read by others, and our feeling is that this is not happening in this course.
Yet, I do think there are positive things about writing a blog, despite the feedback (of lack of it). To me, it has helped me to put my thoughts regarding a specific issue in place. Just the fact to sit down for some time, think about what to write and structure the writing has given me another perspective to look at the learning outcomes of this course. It would be nice to hear other people’s opinion about this: was the blogging a beneficial task for you, or do you perceive it as a waste of time?
I hope you all have a great week!
Thanks for reading me !
